We might have all heard about the divine bird Jatayu who sacrificed his life while trying to save Goddess Sita when she was being abducted by Ravana. It is believed that when Ravana chopped off Jatayu’s wings, the battered Jatayu fell on top of a hillock in Chadayamangalam, a hilly terrain located around 50 km north of Thiruvananthapuram.
It has been sculpted by Mr Rajeev Anchal, a renowned director in Kerala. There were no roads leading to the peak and building materials had to be carried up several times a day which was a painstaking effort.
Jatayu’s Earth Center is a one and a half hours drive from Thiruvananthapuram airport and you must include a visit to this MASTERPIECE in your itinerary when travelling to Kerala.
Let me know what you all think about this hidden gem.
