Agrasen ki Baoli or Ugrasen ki Baoli is an ancient stepwell very close to Connaught Place in Delhi. It is an architectural marvel that once provided a vital source of water for the local community. This place gained popularity after it was featured in the Bollywood movies – PK starring Aamir Khan & Sultan starring Salman Khan.
It has 108 steps which lead down to a sunken well. This stepwell is considered a haunted place and the water inside the well was said to hypnotise people and allure them to commit suicide. There is no water in the step well as of now and we don’t know how far these stories are true. Today, the Baoli stands as a silent sentinel, offering a serene retreat for visitors seeking a moment of reflection amidst Delhi’s vibrant chaos, while also serving as a poignant reminder of the city’s ancient roots and enduring legacy.
